The museum offers a variety of opportunities through its hands-on exhibits which were ALL DESIGNED BY KIDS for everyone. Hundreds of children were taken through over twenty design processes (called Design-o-saurus participatory design processes) resulting in unique and whimsical exhibit designs not found in any other museum.
Exhibit halls include The World of Science and Nature, The Incredible Journey, OVer the Air and Micro Society. Exhibits are being updated, maintained and new ones added constantly!
Little mechanics will learn about engines in a fun way in our Cloverland Car Garage exhibit. This exhibit is named after the actual car dealership that was located in the Museum building long ago. Fuel up and take a ride, work on the engine puzzle or check out the real engine cutaway.
Let your imagination soar in the Over the Air exhibit hall! Pilot an actual airplane and communicate with traffic control. Forecast the weather live on Tv, or broadcast from the studio of Radio UPCM!
In one ear and out the other! Visit the giant head in the Incredible Journey and play a game of Tongue Twister!
What goes in, must come out! Climb up the stomach and slide down the intestine in the Incredible Journey.
Dig up some ore in the Wonderground exhibit!
Lizards, Turtles and Snakes! Oh my!! We have an array of fun animals to share! From geckos, to lizards and bearded dragons, to turtles the size of your head and snakes as long as your body! Come and see them all!

New animation program for kids set to begin at U.P. Children’s Museum
Wow Animation, a new program for children in kindergarten through 12th grade, is accepting registrations for classes. After school and during school breaks, children, and even members of their families, will be able to learn different animation techniques and create their own short animated videos.
Masha Kakhova, a former animator and creative director, is the program coordinator of Wow Animation. She said the open house would be a great opportunity for families to learn more about the new program.
“We are planning classes on cutout puppet animation, claymation, brick filming and pixilation,” Kakhova said. “Our goal is to provide quality learning opportunities to everyone who is interested in the art of animated filmmaking.
